Kalo Workshop with Manuel Rego
Manuel Rego, a former Manager of the Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden, will be leading this workshop. Manuel is a kalo expert who has shared his ʻike through many kalo workshops here at the garden.
The Kalo Workshop will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participation is free, and donations are welcome. Space is limited to 20 participants, so advance registration is encouraged. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can begin on time.
A kalo resource book developed by UH CTAHR will be available for purchase at the workshop for $20 (optional). Copies are limited. If you would like to reserve one in advance, you may purchase it here [link here] and pick it up at the workshop.
What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothes—something you don’t mind getting a little dirty. You may also want to bring a pair of gloves and a small pocket knife, as you will be working with and cutting huli. Please also bring a water bottle and mosquito repellant.
