The Friends are working to revive the Garden as a ‘must see' destination for both residents and also visitors from afar. People of all ages can learn about traditional Hawaiian plants and trees in a living, historic setting. Critical to the future of the islands, we must educate our children to the beauty of nature and this stunning legacy. We have several grant proposals in progress and will keep you updated!
We are very grateful to the Laurence H. Dorcy Hawaiian Foundation for awarding Basic Operating Support for 2020. Mahalo to the Foundation! This life support gives us invaluable momentum and security in these challenging times and also as a new nonprofit. Our volunteers are invaluable as is our partnership in operations with B.P. Bishop Museum. Now we can go confidently forward to fundraise for new projects that develop the Garden and its programs, to serve the community and the world.
